- What does a pre-purchase inspection include?
- We put the vehicle on the lift and go through the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, tires, and fluids, then scan every module for codes. You get photos and the readings so you can decide with the facts in front of you.
- Can you inspect a car from a dealer or private seller?
- Yes. The inspection is done here at 2014 12th St, where we have the lift and scan tools. Most sellers will let a serious buyer bring the vehicle to us for an hour. Call ahead and we will set aside a bay.
- Will you tell me what the car needs?
- We will not tell you what to pay, but we will show you exactly what the vehicle needs now and soon, so you can price it in or walk away. The readings are yours to keep.
- Is this the same as a Virginia state inspection?
- No. A state safety inspection checks the items Virginia requires for a sticker. A pre-purchase inspection goes through the whole vehicle so you know what you are buying. We do not perform state inspections in-house.
- Do you inspect hybrids, diesels, and European cars?
- Yes. Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles, plus hybrids and diesel pickups.
