- The parts store tested my battery as good. Why am I still stranded?
- A surface test can miss a weak battery, a failing alternator, or a parasitic draw. We load test and check the full charging system to find why it actually died.
- What does your battery test show?
- The battery's state of health and charge, how it holds up under a starting load, and whether the alternator is charging it. You get the results on your phone with the rest of your inspection, so you see why we recommend what we do.
- My battery light is on. Is it the battery?
- Usually it means the charging system is not keeping up, which points to the alternator, the belt, or the wiring more often than the battery itself. Get it checked soon. If charging stops, the car runs until the battery is drained and then stalls.
- Does cold weather kill car batteries?
- Cold weather does not usually kill a healthy battery. It exposes a weak one, because a cold engine takes more power to start. The battery that tests weak in the fall is the one that leaves you stuck on the first cold morning, so testing before winter is worth it.
- How long does a car battery last?
- Often three to five years, less with heat and lots of short trips. Age alone is not a reason to replace one. We test it, so you replace it when the numbers say it is time.
